REIS 0.4

My name is... (To Damongo)
At this moment I'm watching the first snow flakes of the year swirl down. The temperature over here has dropped till zero degrees, and the canal in the back yard has it's first ice. I can hardly imagine that all those people, that I see on the pictures of Africa and Ghana, who are so sunny dressed, aren't cold at all. When I see all these beautiful pictures, the country side, the colorful fabrics, the loam houses, the food and the beauty of the people I cant wait to visit this beautiful country. The more I read and see the more I get exited.
My name is Anna de Boer, and I am 21 years old. I'm from the Netherlands, where I live in a small town called Reduzum. I live there with my parents, my dad Klaas and my Mother Anneke. I have one sister, Eline, and, like some Dutch people do, we've got two dogs. Besides Dutch, the people in the north of the Netherlands speak another local language: Frisian, so we have something in common ;-) My dad has his own business, he draws construction maps for buildings, and my mother works as an accountant, she manages the money of people who can't do this themselves. My sister is still in school, and plays a lot of basketball.
I have just finished school,  and hope to start at a new school next year. I want to become a photographer. But before I go to school again I feel like needing a greater experience. Not all wisdom coms within education, and before I attempt to become a photographer I want to expand my vision on society, humanity and culture. I often have my doubts about the Dutch -or Western- culture, habits and way of live.  I've had an ongoing but passive curiosity towards other cultures, especially the African, South-European and Latin-American. I've often met people from over there, and I admire them for their cuisine, music, dance, warmth, hospitality and their family relationships. I admire them for their soul.
I hope Sabine and I are welcome in Damongo and Ghana, and that we can share culture and wisdom but also friendship and joy. I hope we can help a hand in the daily activities, and that we can also give a valuable experience for the Ghanian people in return.
For now we are only organizing all things like medical preventives, passports, visas, and information, in this cold and organized country.
For now we can only imagine…
Kind regards Anna de Boer
